Christmas Project #9

Home for the Holidays
Mini Book
artist Rajini Malhorta

I used the My Home Accordion Journal to create a mini book to document my holiday decor at home last year with a few seasonal photos. The small accordion book has a house shape on the front and back.  I wanted more of a surface to work with so I added a piece of 5 x 7 bookboard on both ends to make a new "cover".  Now when you open it, it's almost like a pop up book...very unexpected to find a little house inside!

I also used a seal from the Parisien Wax and Seals set (discontinued) to hold twine that I wound around the tag. The patterned paper is from the Victoria (small polka dots) and Barcelona collections (large red polka dots).  I added a 97% Complete Tag from the Victoria collection and a few 97% complete stickers to the front and inside the book.  I also used some vintage sheet music and red velvet leaves that I edged in silver glass glitter. I added some Martha Stewart white glitter to the 97% complete tag to give it a frosty, wintry look (you can see the leaves and music paper in image 1)
