the NEW ticket holder GIVEAWAY!

Ready for a few more peeks at what we released at CHA?

How about a closer look at our cha-buzz-inducing-gotta-have-it ticket holder coming this April.

When we first saw this tucked away in one of our favorite euro antique spots we knew we might be on to something....

There were so many things to love from its worn wooden base to the carefully hand-coiled springs gently holding fat stacks of ruffled transit tickets.  It smelled of old papers, musty wood, a tinge of inkiness... it carried the allure of distant journeys and curiosity of where each of those tickets had whisked passengers off to.

We wanted it.  And we knew we had to share it with gypsies everywhere.

So we brought it back to the workshop and imagined.  What kinds of memories could be tucked behind the coils?  Could our ephemera cards and findings fit? What about photos and recipes? How big could they be?  Just how could creative gypsies use this?

We imagined something like this....

layers of tiny tickets, trinkets and tags

or maybe this...

big 8x10 photos, juxaposed with ephemera pieces and tiny bits

we figured we'd need to create some inspired tags and tickets to fit perfectly in the ticket holder like these...

retro train tickets

months of the year tickets

or lucky #7 tickets?

they look darn cute adorned with rubbings and label stickers...

What will you do with your ticket holder?

Post a comment that inspires us and we'll pick our favorite to win a prize pack that includes a new ticket holder, tickets and a mini ephemera set!

Comments must be posted by midnight Thursday, February 18th.  We'll announce the winner on Friday!

This is AMAZING. I would love to use this as a countdown for the end of a deployment. Now that my son is old enough to understand numbers and the days of the week, I think this would be perfect.

I'd love to use it as an inspiration station of sorts. Im always finding bits of paper, fabric etc with patterns and colours that make me want to create, and i think this would be a great way to dipslay those kinds of things that just make a crafters heart happy!

I'd love one of these ticket holders to display the ATCs from our monthly group meeting. It's a shame to just shove them in a book - I'd love to have them out so I can see them for the whole month.

This ticket holder is awesome, and I love the "months" tickets. The holder would be great for displaying special ephemera items.

Love your new vintage ticket holder! It's such beautiful home decor. I want to decorate one with cream lace along the bottom and show off some Vintage ATC cards with pictures of my family. I think it would look great in the kitchen :)

This ticket holder is AWESOME! I would use this to secure little cards of Scriptures that I want to memorize. There are many, many comforting Scriptures that make my day, and I would love to jot them down and clip them on this ticket holder!

I LOVE this!!! LOVE IT!!
and, me, inspire you? I'm liking all of the ideas I'm reading here - the tickets - as an inspiration station (that one gets my vote!) - to hold pictures of all of my amazing grandchildren, along with their artwork & notes to us - oh! for my daughter to have all of her concert & movie tickets where she can see them (they're on a bulletin board in her old room) - oh! to hold some Truth Cards from Soul Restoration! YES! Quotes, inspiration pictures ... ok, I need more than one of these! Now, please?

I'd like to use this as an advent/countdown calendar for my son for a variety of events and holidays- Valentines, Easter, end of school, birthday, start of school, Halloween, Tgiving, Christmas... whatever else I can think of.

Truly great find...I am inspired by all things around me,outdoors, inside, colors, paper, magazines, music, books..you could take any of these and be creative! There are so many more things..but my most favorite is thrift stores..by buying in a charity store, someone has a job, and an old doily or tablecloth is re-loved!! Is that a new word?

I would love to use it for pics taken of my grandbabies during each month to just look at and remember and smile and then design pages for their albums using of course one of my all time fav paper packs Victoria and some ephemera. I would love to have another one for positive affirmations just for me. And then another one in the kitchen for handy hints, fav recipes, phone numbers etc. I just love the whole concept of this ticket holder. Man the Gypsy team just get bigger and better ideas. . .thankyou so much.

I love this! I have been thinking of making an inspirational piece that says "make something pretty today" because between work and a crazy life I cannot get crafty every day and seeing that pretty creation on my desk would make me smile and keep me going until my next crafty time. :)

I could keep my bills organized and ready to pay BUT in a way that I enjoy looking at them. I would put my vintage postcards in the seven holders and the bills behind them along with lots of decorative ephemera. It is smll enough to put on my desk and could hold a lot of things that are now piled up and NOT cute. Mary

This is such a super idea - I am thinking I would use it like an inspiration board for my work table - I would fill it with color and photo inspirations for holidays and/or other times of the year - like now - lots of greens for St Patrick's Day and for Spring. thanks for the chance to win.

Scrapthat said...

I would do a "What inspires me" catcher...most likely it will hold pics of my DD and Daddy and me together but not limited to that...maybe day trips and ephemera. I could change it up on a regular basis.
I love the look of the wood and wire together!! Here's hoping I get lucky on this one!

I saw these at CHA and immediately fell in LOVE with them! I am a huge fan of 7 Gypsies and would love to mix some of my grandchildren's pictures in sepia and add some of 7 Gypsies ephemera to create a lovely "vintage" display.

This is fabulous!! I think I would use it to hold different quotes each week. Quotes that would inspire me to keep going when things are hard, or to remind me to appreciate each and every day I have, or to hug my little ones tight every chance I get. All those little things that make me smile and remember how blessed I am. :)

I think I would use it like a family notice/message board. Each family member could have their own space and phone messages or reminders about tasks etc could be popped behind their faces. The space in front of their faces could be decorated with little pieces of memorabilia which represent the members personalities...tiny vase of flowers for the gardener in the family, bat and ball for the sporty types...musical instruments and tiny rolls of sheet music for the musicians.Possibilities are endless...especially considering how much beautiful Gypsies ephemera there is available.

Babsarella said...

Oh WOW!!! It is awesome!! I would use it to create an inspiration "board" and fill it with all sorts of things that make me smile and will inspire new creations.

Dimitra said...

What an inspiration. All the photos and memories can be constantly exchanged to suit my mood. Love it !

I Love 7 gypsies! How awesome! I would so use it for my crazy obsession with tea. I would alter it with your beautiful paper, add some lace and embellies and then put some of my favorite tea bags and most used recipes on display with a few pieces of ephemera mixed in here and there. I have just the spot on my new kitchen hutch.

Lindy said...

AWESOME!!!! This is just wonderful. I'd use it to counttown different events for my daughter. Valentine's Day; Easter; her birthday; Halloween...things like that. Thanks for the wonderful chance.

Oh, I would love to use this as a place to display the cards I have created or as a docking station for all of the great 7gypsies stuff I accumulate so it is all together in my line of sight- inspiring me to create!

Hollie Haradon said...

This is so cool! I would love to have it sitting on my desk and fill it with photos of family and little pieces of artwork from friends. It would be my little island to remind me of whats most important to me.

Theresa said...

First of all, let me say that this is so amazing!! I can't wait to have one in my house.....I would take it and put it in either my kitchen on the table to catch all those little bits: buttons, tags, notes, and pics that are dropped on the table and sit there....If that didn't work out, I would put it in my living room where it would continue to "catch" all of those little bits that get left behind in there...tags, receipts, photos, and notes that sometimes get forgotten! I LOVE this thing.

Jingle said...

I would so love to create a series of related ATC's and display them with this in my home! It would be perfect! I've been really drawn to my yoga relating to my art lately and this would be a wonderful way to express that connection in a gorgeous display in my home to serve as a reminder!

Unknown said...

What Pack Rat would NOT endorse this super gizmo?! (certainly not ME!) Old wood, old metal, springy clips? SwOoon!

This ticket holder would be completely at home in my studio holding the day's (the week's, the month's) gleanings or the specific pieces I am using in a current project and need to set aside (organized!) to come back to later.

Kids and meals always seem to need attention in the middle of inspiration...

I might NEED SEVERAL ticket holders to create permanent assemblages!

Carol W. said...

I would probably add beautifully colored seed packets to them as well as decoration for the spring & summer months...;) The possibilities are endless! Thanks so much for the chance to win!

The Vintage Ticket Holder would make a beautiful and practical way to display an entire spectrum of ribbons!

With space at a premium in my studio, I am tempted to get a few, flip them over and mount them to the wall.

Those 7 little clips say, "ROY G. BIV" to me! In fact, they may get a personalized label saying just that.

I would use it as a place to hold the secret notes I share with my children. Right now we use a hidey bit of cupboard but the kitties like to play in there and they've been known the eat the notes. Apparently, dogs may eat your homework but kitties will only eat your love notes :)

Deborah345 said...

I've never seen a ticket holder, so cute too, so many uses. I would hang it upside down to hold bits of lace an ribbon so it would be easy to see what I have as left overs to use instead of digging around in a box for stuff.

Jax said...

So many possibilities. When I saw it, I immediately knew I would use it to hold instax photos. My daily craft: spend a few minutes choosing my photo and dress it up with rub ons, epherma, trinkets, etc., put it in the ticket holder, and watch it grow and grow. Not only will it proudly display photos I love, but it'll also function as a way to develop crafting techniques. Yes. I like this a lot.

wow i would love to have this amazing ticket holder. why well i guess because i would cherish it everyday. it would sit on my work shop desk, where i could place my thought on to tags and tickets and place them in the ticket holder. then at any given time of day or night i could read them and put them into a plan. weather it be a altered book or scrap book page, a new design or a lovely poem, or a photo i found and put away for later. they would all be at my finger tips. so yes to win this would be just amazing. good luck to all and thankyou for the lovely prize.

OH my gosh!!! What a COOL idea! I would use mine to hold all of the new goodies that I bring into my scraproom so I could see and use them instead of shoving them in a case and forgetting about them :)

Love the new Ticket Holder. I would use it on my scrap table to hold ideas for projects and just things that inspire me. It will go right next to my Library Drawer of course!

Wow! The ticket holder is so amazing! I LOVE it! So many uses for it....I would use one to hold project samples for my students to see as they create scrapbook pages at the monthly classes that I hold. (it would be GREAT for that!) Another one would sit on my desk, as I scrapbook for myself and create samples for my classes. It would hold inspiration for those projects. Then I would put a 2nd ticket holder in my studio, filled with photos of my precious 18 month old granddaughter. She now lives in another state and I miss her so much...so photos of her being held in the ticket holder would be perfect! And last, I would create a scrapbook "mini-album" of sorts, using the "ticket" theme, with ticket-shaped "pages", and the pages would be held in the ticket holder! Such a fun display that would be!
I would be THRILLED to win a ticket holder! Thanks for the chance!

I'm so excited to get my hands on so many of your new items that are coming out soon, everything that you create and come out with is always a big hit with me! So fun to design with. Thanks for the fun

it would be so wonderful to use as an inspiration focal point or as a seasonal display of photos!!

Ticket holder - also a person who holds a ticket, who is waiting for an adventure to begin. Even gypsies must work, and wash clothes, and cook meals. But I'd steal a glance, in the midst of it all, at my ticket holder - which would hold photos and plans and a good map or two, reminding me that there are roads to be traveled, countries to see, and wonderous adventures just waiting for someday!

I would love love to have one-I would put pictures of my grandkids in till I scraped them-there for changing the display quite often. I would build the page in it by put all of little extras in till I had enough things for a page.

I can think of so many crafty uses for this holder, but I would use this to layer and hold family pictures for my father who is living with dementia. A reminder of people who love him close by and that can easily be pulled out for a better view.

I think I would use it to display pictures of our son with his great uncle and aunt taken at his graduation. They have both since passed away.

Very cool! I'd use the new ticket holder as a daily/weekly goal reminder...I could display each day what action I will take to achieve my weekly goal...some 7 Gypsies paper and embellishments would provide some real inspiration and motivation to achieve...I'm so motivated seeing this I'm off to scour my Gypsy stash to start recording my goal and actions for the coming week...

I love the new ticket holder. I want one. Do I really need to have a use for it? I don't think so! Sometimes, cute is cute, and inspirtion for use comes when you are holding it in your hands. Would love to have one.

this is awesom as well as being useful.
I immediately thought about turning it upside down and attaching it to the wall creating a shelf - an ideal place to display the latest finished projects/photos or whatnots i.e your fabulous new range of bottles. I would use the clips to hold messages/pictures/notations and sentiments to inspire me in creating forth coming projects.

It's not crafting, but a stray dog just followed my fiance home during a road ride on his bike. He followed for almost 5 miles and got in the car with him when he got to his car. As long as no one claims him, we have a new family member. This would be a cute way to display our story!

OMG! Just when you think 7G's couldn't possibly top the last release, it happens again! I LOVE this, you guys rock! I think this would make a great monthly display for photos and journaling tickets. You could change it out monthly, add photos as you take them. Ohhhh...I can't wait!

With something that awesome looking, I'd have to find cool tickets, etc. to stick in! Love the monthly tickets and train tickets too. So hope I'm not too late!!

Ohhh! It screams recipes to me.... perfect to embellish and have it in a corner of the kitchen bench with all my favourites recipe cards popping out. The little tickets would be the perfect touch to add onto each recipe card with the tittle of the dish. That way, quick to see each one and pick it up! Thanks for being so inspiring! :D Vron

My Nana passed away last month and I inherited a bunch of old family photos. This would be an awesome way to display them along with other family trinkets!
