diy: paula's christmas tags!

what you need:  7gypsies tissue paper, CLEAR silicon caulk (can get at Target for around $3), paper for background of tag
one. cut out the image on the tissue paper you want, leaving about 1/4" around the edges - does not need to be precise - and set aside
two.  place silicone on the paper you chose for the tag background and smooth out again - set aside to dry
three. place a small amount of the silicone on the backside of your cutout
four. smooth out using an old credit card
five. place the cutout on top of the background paper and smooth out
six. cutout, punch hole, add ribbon and you have a tag!

gypsy life: holiday decor - candles, envelopes

have you seen the Pottery Barn candles? well we absolutely love them and as we've discovered, so does our gypsy Vicki!
she created such a wonderful decor item using the 7gypsies life tissue paper and some cream colored candles! so simple...and probably 1/4 the price of the Pottery Barn ones!
we adore the way she dipped the bottom of the candles in epsom salt - it looks like snow!
such a cute ensemble wrapped up in a gorgeous ribbon, some fake holly, gypsy hardware and the JOY tag!
how perfect is this for a table centerpiece, sitting on a side table in a hallway or entryway or in a bathroom?! swooooon....
paula created this perfect little envelope to hold gift cards!
and this even larger envelope to hold a christmas card!

gypsy life: holiday decor - tags!

after you spend so much of your time thinking and contemplating the perfect gift for all those special people in your lives and then finally wrapping those presents, you think, "how will people know who it's for?"
why not create a fabulous tag like our gypsies Mou and Paula did?
mou always does such a great job mixing in all sorts of fun elements into her projects, and this time is no different....
starting with our gorgeous gypsy tags, mou began adding pieces, layer by layer, to create these beautiful-one-of-a-kind gift tags!
look how she used a frame from our frames collage tissue and the Christmas stamp to add fun holiday statements!
paula created these vintage tags using our frames and silhouettes collage tissue!
adding some pieces from old song books behind to create such beautiful dimension..
want to know how she cut the images out so precisely? check out her blog for a how to!
we will be sharing holiday decor ideas all week gypsies!!
don't miss out on all the fun we are having here in the gypsy workshop

holiday decor: wrapping!

there are so many fun ways to wrap presents during the holidays...
sometimes, okay well we actually think always -  it's just more fun to get creative then spend all your money on expensive, pre-printed wrapping paper....
our gypsy Ann came up with some amazing wrapping ideas...take a peek.
how cute is the chipboard letter used as a tag on this present?
and don't forget the Christmas papertape to keep those little ones from peeking early!
the combination of the 7gypsies Paris tissue with the doily create a gorgeous holiday gift wrapping
using our Life tissue paper, Gypsy tags and Lille papertape with the perfect addition of pink ribbon and bells - Ann created a true Christmas morning treat - but you can't eat this one gypsies!!
simple, easy, beautiful...
gypsy Ranjini wrapped this gift with kraft paper and the Lille papers...
with the addition of the gypsy hardware kit, this will look absolutely gorgeous sitting under any tree this season.
this adorable little package incorporates our gorgeous conservatory collection with the gypsy hardware...
who wouldn't LOVE receiving this adorable gift? we love the way she attached the bottles to the outside to give it that special gypsy touch...

what will you be wrapping your gifts in this year gypsies?
stay tuned for more holiday decor this week!

gypsy life: office holiday decorations!

decorating for Christmas has been a really fun time here in the gypsy workshop.
using plenty of gypsy goodies, along with some other trinkets we had laying around, we feel we did a pretty darn good job....take a look....
using our 12 days of Christmas tag kit and some ruby dangles, we hung this adorable garland up in our front window for all the passerby's to see...
we love this little display - an old mirror with speckle spray paint, bottles coated in white spray paint and epsom salt and stuffed with glitter sticks, two thrift store candles, "JOY" cutout of book board and covered in Savannah flocked paper - perfect little holiday display!
don't you love these styrofoam tree's? super easy to make and perfect for an anywhere-in-the-house and must-be-seen-by-all holiday display!
we attached these paper flowers to our window shade!
one of our gypsies created these using paper and our gears for the flower center
do you remember our DIY on the ruler stars?
if you missed it, click HERE to see how to make these adorable holiday decorations....
our tree is one decor item us gypsies are pretty proud of...we covered some clear plastic ornaments with our tissue paper (inspired by Ellen Hutson - click HERE for tutorial) and rubbings, created a paper chain with scalloped and glittered edges, some princesca dangles and our gypsy Christmas banner!
does it get any better than this?!

guest post: ellen hutson!

Easy Gifts for the Holidays
by ellen hutson
Thank you 7gypsies for the privilege of sharing these projects with your readers! With the holiday season upon us I thought it would be fun to share several ideas that I think would make perfect gifts.
The first project is this fun little "message center!" Using the solo shadowbox together with the wonderful display trims it was quick and easy to create this fun accessory for my home.
displaying Santa photos is something we love to do at our house - the letterpress tray is perfect for showcasing these special photos.
the optical lens can be turned into a fabulous customized ornament. what a wonderful gift this would be for a grandparent! simply create a custom rub-on of your child's silhouette, add a date and hang on their tree!

projects and inspiration: christmas gift ideas part 2!

we all know that holiday's can be a very stressful time.....
why not help someone relax a little?
grab some lotion, bath salts, whatever you prefer - find a fancy book knob to place on the front - place items in drawer and you've got yourself a pretty-adorable-can't live without-bath and beauty kit!
ranjini did a fabulous job displaying the kit in spectacular mini library drawer!
we love hot cocoa here in the gypsy workshop!
and what a perfect little gift for someone in your life that loves it as much as we do...
ranjini added those little extra touches that make this simple gift so fantasticly delicious!
vicki created this beautiful gift with our photo shadowbox tray!
the little details she added gave this a personal touch that you just can't forget...
just grab the 7gypsies photo shadowbox tray, some photos sized to fit the compartments and all the embellishments you can find....
and just start placing them in the tray to see what you can come up with!
