collage tissue garland and a new gypsy baby!!!

We are very excited to announce the arrival of our newest gypsy baby!
Lillian Belle
the sweet new addition to our caravan.
Congrats proud gypsy mama Amber!

We created a collage tissue paper garland to celebrate.
So cute, so simple, so 7gypsies!

Here's how we did it!

materials used:
modpodge
glitter
7gypsies collage tissues: birdsong and life
any 7gypsies chipboard alphabet & number set
scrap piece of chipboard

cover chipboard letters/numbers with glue and sprinkle on glitter~ repeat as needed
cut a 1"x 20" strip of life collage tissue for each letter you are using
cut a 3"x3" square of birdsong collage tissue for each letter
cut a 2 1/4" inch circle out of the chipboard for each letter

crinkle up each of the life tissue strips

cover the chipboard circles with a thin, even coat of mod podge

carefully lay birdsong collage tissue square on top of mod podged circle
and gently smooth out wrinkles.
sand around edge of circle to remove excess tissue or wrap around back and mod podge in place.

apply a generous layer of mod podge around back edge of tissue covered circle

begin pleating one of the collage tissue strips around the edge of the circle

adhere glittered alphabet letter to front of circle.
repeat all steps for each letter.

Once you have each tissue circles completed~ connect them with 7gypsies crystal dangles and finish off ends with seam binding ribbon!

Collage tissue, new Binderie findings~ and a ticket holder WINNER too!

We still have more NEW goodies to show you from our CHA release.

Back by popular demand is the collage tissue!  For those of you who have been gypsies long enough to remember our original tissue papers, you can finally let yourself use those last bits of tissue you've been hoarding in fear of never getting your hands on gypsy tissue again.

These 4 new designs come in super sized 20x30 sheets and can be used in SO many ways.
We've been playing with it here in the workshop and have discovered so many ways to use it.
(we'll share our findings later)

But here's a quick peek at the 4 different styles:

Paris

Birdsong

numero

life

Check out what the tissue looks like when decoupaged to kraft book board!

And look at these mini flower clips made with the new tissues!

And a  new 7gypsies product release wouldn't be complete without a few new additions to our binderie findings...

New book covers...

butterfly 5x7

life is good 3x5

ephemera 6x6

and a new book findings kit 6x6

How about these 3 new book knobs?  We know a few gypsies who want these for their kitchen cupboards...

And just because we love you so....

2 brand new clear stamps!

conservatory and numero

AND After reading all of your inspirational ideas we decided that we just had to give away an additional ticket holder prize pack!
A big thanks to all of you who shared your ideas, inspiration and excitement with us!

Our first winner inspired us with her enthusiasm and abundance of love for the ticket holder...

Nathalie Thompson said...

What Pack Rat would NOT endorse this super gizmo?! (certainly not ME!) Old wood, old metal, springy clips? SwOoon!

This ticket holder would be completely at home in my studio holding the day's (the week's, the month's) gleanings or the specific pieces I am using in a current project and need to set aside (organized!) to come back to later.

Kids and meals always seem to need attention in the middle of inspiration...

I might NEED SEVERAL ticket holders to create permanent assemblages!

And we loved the ingenious idea of flipping the ticketholder and mounting several to a wall from gm glimmerglass...

gm glimmerglass said...

The Vintage Ticket Holder would make a beautiful and practical way to display an entire spectrum of ribbons!

With space at a premium in my studio, I am tempted to get a few, flip them over and mount them to the wall.

Those 7 little clips say, "ROY G. BIV" to me! In fact, they may get a personalized label saying just that.

If you are one of our lucky winners email us HERE with your address and we will ship your prize pack as soon as the ticketholder hits our warehouse!

the gypsy apothecary~ a sneak peak

the gypsy Apothecary is a place inspired by our fascination with beautifully colored vintage bottles and delicate labels.  Yes we admit that we've spent hours scouring bins and boxes of bottles, closely examining their beautiful labels and many uses.

We've handpicked our most favorite style of bottle and of course sized it to fit in our display trays.  The apothecary bottles come in both clear and an amber tinted glass, each finished with a mini cork top.

And because we know that a good label sometimes makes the bottle, we created 6 different styles of apothecary labels scaled to fit our new bottles perfectly.

Choose from vintage printed or try naked labels if you prefer to personalize yours~ think rubbings, stamps or your own handwriting!  Naturally, we'd recommend that you purchase a few of each!
